Mié, 03/07/2013 - Vie, 05/07/2013
The 2nd Annual Conference of ALTER - European Society for Disability Research will take place on 3-5 July in Leuven, Belgium.
ALTER - the European Society for Disability Research was founded in 2011 from the Editorial Board of the Journal Alter-European Journal of Disability Research as an international society with the aim of fostering scholarly and interdisciplinary research that ranges across all aspects of science and scholarship, advocacy, and policy. It is an open intellectual society that welcomes all with an interest in disability without exception or particular orientation. The society is founded with a focus on Europe and is welcoming scholars from all parts of the world.
During the conference scholars will present papers that are relevant to the lives of people with disabilities in European contexts. Current scholarly, critical, and cutting-edge papers in disability research will include research that captures contemporary societal issues, the voice of disabled people, advocacy, and policy.
The conference will comprise a ‘live’ as well as a ‘virtual’ dimension. The live dimension will feature selected presentations that will be brought to an audience. The virtual dimension will feature spoken and/or visual pre-recorded presentations broadcasted during the Conference, that can be accessed through the internet.
The languages of the Conference will be English and French.
