CeDR
The CeDR is an active Centre for research and teaching on disability and disablism. Pride is taken in the impact of their research and scholarship on policy making and social practices in disability arenas – regionally, nationally and internationally.
Their core members and supporters bring a mix of disciplines, research methods, and skills to the study of disability and disablism. Sociology, psychology and social policy are their particular strengths. They welcome the ideas and projects brought by other disciplines, perspectives and personal experiences: inclusion dedicated to enhancing the equality and human rights of people with disabilities is their mission.
CeDR makes ideas and skills widely available – especially to:
• people with disabilities their organisations
• government departments and a range of agencies
• professionals and employers - in the public, private, and ‘not for profit’ sectors
• international agencies and organisations - such as the World Health Organisation (WHO)
They collaborate with Disability Studies groupings and individuals across the globe. Please feel free to make contact
The research, consultancy and evaluation that they are currently involved in can be sampled by following the Research link.
If you are interested in opportunities to learn and study – at introductory or advanced levels – follow the Teaching and Learning link. There is a growing community of postgraduate researchers linked to CeDR. We will consider requests for training in service contexts.
