Congress 'New horizons for Mental Health in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD)'
Jue, 12/09/2013 - Sáb, 14/09/2013
On 12th – 14th September, the 9th European Congress of the European Association of Mental Health in Intellectual Disability will take place in Estoril, Lisbon, Portugal. The conference under the title 'New horizons for Mental Health in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD)' is organized in collaboration with and hosted by Fenacerci and supported by ARFIE.
Better mental health is on the horizon for persons with IDD
People with IDD belong in our World. This hopeful and inclusive perspective is not already reality but an ethical statement. The fact that people with IDD are more vulnerable to mental health problems increases the risk that they will become excluded by society. It is therefore extremely important to reposition the relationship between mental health and IDD with a goal to reappraising all aspects. Therefore representatives from a multitude of perspectives, approaches and cultures have been invited to this conference to hopefully contribute not only to the sharing of knowledge, but also to its deepening and expansion.
