Hear our voices: Citizens First! 3rd European conference of self-advocates

“Hear our voices” is the name of the European conference for self-advocates is taking place in Zagreb, Croatia on 4-6 October 2013. This year the theme is "Citizens First!". The conference is for self-advocates from all over Europe, but also from outside Europe.
The conference is being co-organised by the European Platform of Self-Advocates (EPSA), Inclusion Europe, the Association for Self-Advocacy and Gong. GONG is an organisation in Croatia. Since 1997, this organisation works to make sure that all people can use their rights and take part in politics.
The conference will look at how persons with intellectual disabilities use their rights to make sure they are included in the community and in politics. The United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities will be in the center. Participants will agree on messages for their governments, organisations and families.
