A pilot symposium of the European Enablin+ project will scrutinise the living conditions and identify the care and support needs of children and young people with profound disabilities. Organisations, experts and families are invited to join the symposium and discuss what must be done in various European countries to ensure higher and more active participation of young people with severe disabilities in society.
The conference is the first of six events to be organised within the framework of the Enablin+ project. Through various activities, the project aims to develop an interdisciplinary in-service training, for professionals and parents for improving the quality of life of young people with complex needs.
Building on the expertise and shared practices, the training will provide an opportunity to identify various challenges in education, communication and participation for children with complex needs. Moreover, it aims in improving their inclusion in the life of society in general and in education in particular. It attempts to enhance activation, communication and quality of life of the children with complex and intense support needs.
