Christian Liesen PhD is a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Applied Sciences of Special Needs Education in Zurich, Switzerland. Liesen studied special education at the University of Hannover, Germany, where he also worked at the Centre for Philosophy and Ethics of Science, and in Zurich, where he completed his PhD in 2003. His interests fall chiefly in the domains of the complex and conflicting normative, instrumental, and structural demands of special education practice, with research projects looking into the objectives, intentions, and bases for planning of special needs education institutions and organizations.
