Raising Achievement for All Learners – Quality in Inclusive Education (RA4AL)
Raising Achievement for all learners is an imperative and a priority at European level. The project Raising Achievement for all Learners – Quality in Inclusive Settings, running from December 2011 – November 2012 set out to identify the key issues that need to be explored and strategies that appear to be successful in raising achievement for all learners in inclusive settings.
A major conference in Odense, Denmark was organised in collaboration with the Danish Ministry of Education and the Odense Municipal authorities on 13th-15th June 2012. It was recognised as an official event under the Danish Presidency of the EU. The conference was attended by over 80 researchers and policy makers for both mainstream and inclusive education from 27 countries who followed a programme of activities including an exhibition, presentations and seminars.
The conference aimed to:
- - explore initiatives and approaches that appear to be successful in improving the quality of education in inclusive settings
- - identify some factors that support the raising achievement of all learners to improve life chances and provide better opportunities for full participation in society
- - raise awareness of the benefits of European co-operation among policy makers and researchers
In the context of an exhibition, country experts had the opportunity to share materials on their work and on initiatives and approaches that appear to be successful in improving the quality of education in inclusive settings.
