Profile of María Antonia Casanova


Education Inspector since 1980, Casanova has held the position of General Assistant Director of Special Education and Attention to Diversity in the Ministry of Education (1996-1999), and General Director of Educational Promotion in the Community of Madrid (1999-2007).
She is currently Director of Education of the Higher Institute of Educational Promotion and associate professor in the Camilo José Cela University in Madrid. She has also been the Spanish representative in the European Agency for the Development of Special Education (with headquarters in Denmark) and has directed, as a Spanish counterpart, the Educational Integration Programme in Mexico (1996-2002).
Amongst her most outstanding publications: “Educational Evaluation Textbook”, “Evaluation and Quality in Educational Centers”, “Curricula Design and Educational Innovation”.
