Profile of Miguel Angel Verdugo, PhD

Miguel Angel Verdugo is the first Spanish University professor who runs a dedicated Chair limited to the field of disability . He holds degrees in Teaching and Pedagogy (specialization Speech Therapy), Psychology (BA and Ph.D. from the Autonomous University of Madrid) and a Masters in Education from the Columbia University in New York.
As University Professor at the University of Salamanca his professional activity includes :
• Coordination of the doctoral program "Progress and Prospects in Research on Disability"
• Management of the Masters in Integration of Persons with Disabilities.
• Management of the Institute on Community Integration (INICO) and Information Service Disabled (SID) of the University of Salamanca and the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (IMSERSO)
• Management of the Century Magazine Zero FEAPS
• Vice President for Research at the University of Salamanca
• Member of International Committee of the American Association on Mental Retardation (AAMR)
• Adjunct Research Associate of the Schiefelbusch Institute for Life Span Studies / Beach Center on Families and Disability, University of Kansas (USA)
