IASSIDD, the University of Vienna and Lebenshilfe Austria are organising the 4th IASSIDD Europe Regional Congress on the newest findings in research on intellectual disability on 14-17 July 2014. The theme for this year's conference is Pathways to Inclusion - creating new ways to inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities in Europe through applied research.
The congress will bring together self-advocates, researchers, policy makers and leaders in the field to draw up the future priorities in research on intellectual disability with respect to an evidence-based promotion on those rights expressed in the CRPD. Keynote speakers Timothy Shriver, the Chairman of the Board of the Special Olympics; Mary McCarron, Dean of Faculty of Health Sciences at Trinity College Dublin and Jan Siska, an associate professor at the Faculty of Education at Charles University Prague will also share their expertise with the participants.
Any participant interested to give a presentation during the congress, can now submit an abstract until 31 January. The presentation should tackle the main topic of the congress and can be in a form of oral presentation, poster presentation, roundtable session or a demonstration session.
