International Conference on Higher Education and Disability, Innsbruck, Austria

The 8th international conference on higher education and disability is a unique outgrowth of the long-standing friendship agreement between the University of Innsbruck and the University of New Orleans Training, Resource, and Assistive-technology Center (TRAC). The conference will take place on July 22-26, 2013 in Innsbruck, Austria. Keynote Speaker this year will be Dr. Erwin Buchinger, Disability Ombudsman of Austria.
The conference is designed to educate and exchange information between professionals working with students with disabilities at the post-secondary education level. Some of the professionals attending are post-secondary educators, administrators, disability service providers, and members of international exchange organizations. This event facilitates international interaction and coalition-building to increase opportunities for post-secondary students with disabilities.
Since 1992 the conference has been held every three years at the University of Innsbruck. The conference has grown into an international event attracting, participants from over 50 countries. In addition to the countries in Western Europe, the conferences have included representatives from the Czech Republic, the Slovak Republic, Hungary, Poland, Moldova, Botswana, South Africa, Ethiopia, Ghana, India, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Nigeria, Singapore, Croatia, Japan, Turkey, Brazil, Canada and the USA.
