Launch of the AEMA Network - Let's make Adult Education more Accessible!
Wed, 07/05/2014
Today marks the official launch of the AEMA Network - a project that brings together 12 organisations from 11 European countries to help develop a shared network and quality framework on accessibility issues in Adult Education. Project Coordinator is Queraum, one of the first associated members of the incluD-ed network.
The network, funded with support from the Grundtvig programme of the European Commission, will reach out to people with disabilities, accessibility experts, disability organisations, Governmental organisations, funding bodies and Adult Education providers, with the overall aim of increasing the accessibility, participation, transparency and quality of Adult Education in Europe.
Through a dedicated one-stop information portal and various social media channels, the AEMA network will communicate news, events and results related to openness in Adult Education, spread the word of good practices and help to develop sustainable networks (both national and European) that help to move the accessibility agenda forward. As part of this process, national networking meetings will be held in 8 countries across Europe.
The network will provide further visibility to accessibility practices by awarding Accessibility Quality Badges for Adult Education Providers and Accessibility Competency Badges for experts on Accessibility.
